Meet Susan Deal |
|
Susan
Deal began sewing at a very young age beginning by sewing
clothing construction projects for 4-H. Many years later, Susan
received an invitation to participate in the Fairfield Show in 1987.
This is an invitation only show to show off the best the industry has
to offer in various categories. Susan often used traditional quilt
designs highlighting them with exotic fabrics and dazzling colors to
really make her garments and quilts come alive.
Through 2006, Susan has participated in nine Fairfield Fashion
shows, three Bernina Fashion Shows, as well as numerous other juried and
professional shows, including AQS, "Designed to Wear" at the Oregon
School of Arts and Crafts, "Art to Wear" at the Colorado Gallery of
the Arts, The Capitol Collection, The Bazaar del Mundo Fabric Festival
in San Diego, and the New England Quilt Museum.
Susan's creative wearables have been featured in Quilter's
Newsletter Magazine, American Quilter, Quilting Today, Ladies Circle
Patchwork Quilts, Woman's Day Wearable Art, Wearable Crafts, Craft and
Needlework Age, Ben |
