| Susan has always loved the
kaleidoscope block, and used it to dramatic effect in this coat
and suit ensemble. Combining silks and cottons, the lighter
and darker value purples are set against a background that goes
from yellow orange at the top of the coat to a deep dark red at
the bottom. The blocks are 5" square and are set on point.
both the coat sleeves and the suit jacket utilize a diagonal cut
and re-cut technique to echo the shapes of the kaleidoscope block.
The ensemble is machine quilted with metallic thread. |
