This pantsuit and coat ensemble celebrates the inverted
clamshell design. The coat has a pieced border of clamshells in
cotton and silk, an the rest of the silk coat is quilted with the same
motif. The pantsuit of all silk was first free-motion quilted in
gold metallic |
|
|
|
| thread.
Then the inverted clamshell design was stitched using a satin
stitch in the accent colors of teal, gray, and pink. Then, shisha mirrors were hand-sewn to the jacket pieces. Finally,
many charms and beads were used to embellish the jacket, including
clamshell charms around the bottom. |
